Internet Desk: Asia’s no.1 team Iran thrashed India 4-0 in the Asian World Cup qualifiers Group D match at the Azadi stadium in Tehran on Thursday.
India started off well but were unable to penetrate their dominance. Iran’s first break through came in the 33rd minute from a penalty off Ehsan Hajisafi. Hajisafi scored again from the spot kick in the 66th minute which was Iran’s third off the night.
In the 61st minute Hajisafi’s corner pounded into the thighs of Azmoun who made no mistake in getting the second goal.
Alireza put the last nail in the coffin in the 78th minute off a sliding effort where Gurpreet was nothing but just a spectator.
