Asian Games 2023: Sift Kaur, Ashi Chouksey & Manini Kaushik wins silver in women’s 50m 3 Positions event

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian trio of Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey, and Manini Kaushik clinched a silver medal in the women’s 50m 3 Positions team event at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou on Wednesday. Their stellar performance earned India a total score of 1764, just nine points behind the gold-winning Chinese team. Meanwhile, the Republic of Korea secured the bronze with a score of 1756.

Sift Kaur Samra’s outstanding performance stood out as she not only contributed significantly to the team’s success but also set a new National Record by achieving a score of 594. Her exceptional performance landed her in the second position, securing a spot in the individual final. However, China’s Xia Siyu, who also scored 594, edged past Samra in the qualification round due to a higher number of inner 10s.

Ashi Chouksey displayed her skill by securing a place in the individual final as well, finishing sixth overall with a total score of 590. Manini Kaushik, while not making it to the individual final, still put up a commendable performance, finishing in the 18th position with a score of 580.

This remarkable achievement boosted India’s medal tally at the ongoing Asian Games to an impressive total of 15 medals, including three gold, five silver, and seven bronze medals. The success of the women’s 50m 3 Positions team event further underscores India’s prowess in shooting sports at the international level.
