Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was the cynosure of all eyes during the training session ahead of the Asia Cup Super-4 stage match against Pakistan on Sunday, September 10. Bumrah, who took a paternal break joined the Indian squad in Colombo on Friday morning.  He was seen bowling full tilt in the nets, indicating his readiness to return to the playing XI, potentially replacing Mohammed Shami.

Wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul was also closely observed during the practice session. He engaged in wicketkeeping drills under the guidance of fielding coach TP Dileep and then proceeded to bat. However, rain disrupted the training session after only 15 minutes, leaving Rahul's potential inclusion in the XI uncertain.

Captain Rohit Sharma had an extended net session, displaying excellent form after his 74-run performance against Nepal. Virat Kohli, too, looked sharp, primarily focusing on throwdowns. Kohli's session started with him playing with a puppy and showcasing his football skills during the warm-up.

Left-arm spinner Axar Patel was seen batting in the nets, potentially indicating his selection over Shardul Thakur for the upcoming match against Pakistan.

Due to the looming threat of rain for the marquee clash on Sunday, the Asian Cricket Council has made provisions for a reserve day if the match gets washed out.

The Indian team is scheduled to train indoors on Saturday at the Nondescripts Cricket Club, preparing for the crucial encounter.
