Kolkata: After two seasons two dependable players of Bengal Anushtup Majumdar and Arnab Nandi returned to their former team from Railways. As Railways granted them the NOC to play for Bengal, they met the CAB President Sourav Ganguly to play for Bengal in this season.

As the beginning of this 2016-17 season Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary initiated to bring two former players back to the Bengal squad. Bengal also was in search of a dependable middle order batsman. And Anustup Majumdar was a perfect selection for that position. “I am happy to be back to the Bengal squad. I will try to deliver my best for the team”, said Anushtup Majumdar.

Apart from him all rounder Arnab Nandi also returned to Bengal. Railway granted them the NOC two days’ ago. They met Sourav today with the copy of NOC. “I know presently there is good competition in the Bengal team as Pragyan Ojha is there. I will give my best to give Bengal the needful”, said Arnab.

According to sources, these two players left Bengal for better cricketing carrier in Railways. However, their performance was not up to the mark over there. CAB President Sourav Ganguly said, “We were in search of a middle order batsman. As they have got their NOC from Railways we will be helpful.”

Meanwhile, today in the Dr. K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament Bengal took only two wickets of Mumbai Cricket Assosiation. Previously they scored 427, the best score of this pre-season. Captain Manoj Tiwary scored 126 and Abhimanyu Easwaran scored 119.
