East Bengal to install flood lights at their ground in two months

18718576_1524330654252567_1754747503_n Kolkata: Aizawl FC owner Robert Royte has reportedly called East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar to discuss about his team’s participation in the upcoming ISL after having a conversation with Union Sports minister Vijay Goel. Royte have also informed about Mohun Bagan official Anjan Mitra about his meeting. Tomorrow a meeting will be held between the two club officials and IFA to discuss about the confusion regarding ISL and I-League merger. An executive committee meeting was held today at East Bengal club where a decision has been made that the club would be represented by club president Pranab Dasgupta and Asst secretary Santi Ranjan Das Gupta at the AFC meeting which is to be held at Kuala Lampur on 7th June. The outcome of tomorrow’s meeting would decide whether East Bengal would attend the AFC meeting or not. “We have never told that we won’t play ISL, we have interest to play in the ISL as our brand value would increase apart from advertisements and other things. But the demands that have been made must us should be accepted by the Federation and by IMG-R. AS the Chief Minister of the state has said that she would back us we are certain of receiving her help” said Debabrata Sarker. “Robert Roite will send us the ‘minutes’ of his meeting with Vijay Goel. We would go through that and then have the meeting” said Debabrata Sarkar. When Debabrata was asked whether the teams that play I-league but won’t participate in ISL are to form into a unity and have a meeting. To this however he said that they haven’t yet decided anything as of such but such ideas are always welcome. Mohun Bagan secretary Anjan Mitra said “We are eagerly waiting for tomorrow’s meeting as it would decide the future of the club in participation of the ISL. Our future endeavors would depend a lot on meeting” A team of 10 members from PWD arrived at the club to and has made it certain that like Mohun Bagan, floodlights would be installed at East Bengal within a span of 2 months. It is to be seen whether the installation will be made before the start of the CFL. The cost of installation would b2 corers 99 lakh rupees.
