Brazil delivered an impressive performance to defeat Scotland 3-0 and secure first place in Group C of the FIFA World Cup 2026, heading into the knockout stage with growing confidence.

The five-time world champions took the lead just seven minutes into the match when Vinícius Júnior capitalized on a defensive error from Scotland. The Brazilian forward showed great composure to finish clinically and give his side an early advantage.

Vinícius appeared to have doubled Brazil's lead in the 22nd minute, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR review determined that a foul had occurred in the build-up.

Brazil continued to dominate possession and create chances throughout the first half. Their persistence paid off in stoppage time when Bruno Guimarães delivered a precise cross into the box, allowing Vinícius to head home his second goal of the match and make it 2-0.

The South American giants sealed the victory in the 67th minute. Bruno Guimarães once again played a key role, providing an excellent pass for Matheus Cunha, who calmly finished to score Brazil's third goal.

Fans were also delighted to see Neymar return to action, with the Brazilian star entering the match during the final 15 minutes.

Vinícius Júnior's brace and Bruno Guimarães' creative influence were the standout factors in Brazil's convincing win. The result ensures Brazil advance to the Round of 32 as Group C winners and provides a significant boost in confidence ahead of their next challenge.

Brazil will now face the runners-up of Group K in the Round of 32 on June 29 as they continue their pursuit of a sixth World Cup title.
