World Cup 2023: Blockbuster India versus Pakistan clash to take place on October 15

Xtra Time Web Desk: The blockbuster India versus Pakistan clash in upcoming 50 overs World Cup is likely to take place on October 15. Although there is no official confirmation from neither ICC nor BCCI. According to a tentative schedule the marquee clash between the two Asian powerhouses will take place likely on October 15.

It is also reported that Pakistan Cricket Board has agreed to travel to India for the quadrennial event. However, there is no confirmation from the PCB yet.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, the tournament will kick-start with reigning World Cup champion England facing New Zealand at the Narendra Modi stadium on October 5. India’s opening match will be against Australia in Chennai. The final will also be played at the same venue on November 19.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is understood to be having reservations over playing against India in Ahmedabad. The marquee clash can be staged in either Chennai or Kolkata.

As per the tentative schedule drawn so far, Pakistan will play its games in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. PCB has also agreed to play the final in Ahmedabad, should its team reach the title clash.

Kolkata, Delhi, Indore, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Rajkot, Raipur and Mumbai are the other designated venues with Mohali and Nagpur missing out from the list.

Wankhede stadium in Mumbai is likely to stage one semi-final. Each team will play nine league games which means most centres, if not all, will get an India game each.
