WIvsIND, 4th T20I: Yashasvi & Shubman opening partnership guides India to a convincing 9 wicket win against Windies in Florida

Xtra Time Web Desk: In a commanding display, resurgent Team India leveled the T20I series against West Indies with a dominant performance in the 4th match in Lauderhill, Florida on Saturday, August 12. The opening duo of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal proved unstoppable, amassing a formidable 165-run partnership – an Indian record for T20Is. Gill’s 77 off 47 balls and Jaiswal’s unbeaten 84 off 51 balls highlighted their control over the game.

Jaiswal, particularly impressive, attacked both pacers and spinners from the outset. Despite only Romario Shepherd taking a wicket, Windies struggled to make an impact. Changes in their lineup, including Shai Hope and Jason Holder’s return, couldn’t stifle India’s momentum. Earlier, West Indies showed promise in batting-friendly conditions but consistent wicket losses hindered their progress. Shai Hope’s 45 and Shimron Hetmyer’s late push with 61 bolstered their total.

Kuldeep Yadav and Arshdeep Singh starred in India’s bowling, with Kuldeep’s spell significantly influencing West Indies’ innings. Despite some costly overs, Indian bowlers managed regular breakthroughs. The victory marked India’s turnaround from being 0-2 down in the series. The decisive match is set for August 13 at the same venue, offering India the chance to make history by being the first team to overturn a 0-2 deficit and win a bilateral 5-match T20I series.
