Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza made a winning return at Wimbledon after becoming a mother. Sania and her doubles partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands cruised into the second round of the Wimbledon Championships on Thursday. The duo defeated Desirae Krawczyk and Alexa Guarachi in straight sets 7-5, 6-3 in the first round of women’s doubles.
Sania returned to The All England Lawn Tennis Club after a long hiatus of 3 years. She was absent from tennis because of maternity leave back in 2018. Sania posted an adorable pic of Izhaan along with her American partner after winning her first round match on her instagram.
Sania will be partnering India’s No 1 singles and doubles player Ankita Rana at the Tokyo Olympics later this month. It will be her fourth Olympics in a row. In the mixed doubles Sania will re-unite with Rohan Bopanna.
