Kolkata: Mohun Bagan’s very own Swapan Sadhan Bose, attended the Annual General Meeting of the club today. First time since he resigned from the post of the Mohun Bagan President. Though he arrived after 30 minutes of the start of the meeting. He was seen spending time with the general members of the club in the normal seats. Former Chief Justice Mr Murari Mohon Bose chaired the meeting. The questions were raised why he chaired the meeting when the President himself was present in the meeting. Though the club informed that the President arrived a little late and that is the reason why he was nit chaired the meeting.
Swapan Sadhan Bose was later caught by the awaited media and was asked if he is returning back as the President. He replied, “No, I’m not. It was becoming a Tutu Bose-oriented club. But at the same time I belong to the club and I would wish my body will be carried from the club when I’ll die.”
Mr Bose also said, “This is a public club, not my personal property. So there is no point of producing a successor. This time it’s not a drama. I don’t want to see the Mohun Bagan President on the wheel chair.” Though he hesitated on the question of calling him as the former Mohun Bagan President as he said, “Please don’t call me an ex President, rather call me Tutu Bose. That sounds more familiar.” He added, “Feeling good that I resigned before my last breath.”
Significantly he told, “Mohun Bagan will play in the ISL and that too before I breath my last. But I didn’t like the way East Bengal snatched Garcia from our club when we were unitedly fighting against IMG-R.”
Mr Bose also made a huge promise to the fans as he said, “Whether I’m the President or not, Tutu Bose will always contribute to the club.” Though club Secretary Anjan Mitra Said, “Tutu Bose is the President. This is not the process to remove him.”
The decision in the AGM:
- There will be a new Pan Card for the club members. The new Date of Birth of the club will be 15th August,1889 as this is the National Club of India.
- Mohun Bagan merchandised products will now have copyrights.
- There club will be registered to Society Registration Act.
- The minimum fee of membership would be Rs.500.
