Why Sourav Ganguly is impressed about this all rounder from Tripura ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions?

Xtra Time Web Desk: Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly heaped loads of praises on Tripura all-rounder Manishankar Murasingh during his recent visit to the North East state. Ganguly, who is also the brand ambassador of Tripura tourism makes this statement at a time when the IPL 2024 auctions are few days away. It will not be surprising if Delhi Capitals buy Murasingh for his base price of 20 lakhs.

Someone following domestic cricket will have a fair account of Manisankar Murasingh. Since making his first-class debut in 2009, Murasingh has scored 3308 runs at an average of 26.67, with four centuries and 14 half-centuries. He has a T20 strike rate of 133.95. The right arm medium pacer has also claimed 245 wickets at an average of 29.57. Talking about his T20 statistics, the 30-year-old cricketer has scored 890 runs from 66 T20 matches at a strike rate of 134. The right arm medium pacer has scalped 51 wickets as well

Hailing from the outskirts of south Tripura, Murasingh grew an interest in cricket watching Yivraj Singh.  It is not easy for someone representing a state which has won only nine out of 193 Ranji Trophy matches. But Murasingh’s unwavering commitment to the game has stood out.

The experienced cricketer downplays the disappointment of not making the IPL, despite attending trials for Mumbai Indians in 2019 and Gujarat Titans. With Sourav Ganguly at the helm of Delhi Capitals management, Murasingh will be hoping for a change in fortune.
