Kolkata: Under the chairmanship of former India skipper Sourav Ganguly, BCCI’s Technical Committee met in Kolkata today to take a decision about what would be the format of forthcoming Ranji Trophy. After this another meeting of Tours and Fixtures Committee will take place on the same day to decide the fixtures of India’s limited overs home series against Australia which will be played between October and November.

Just ahead of the meeting a funny thing happened with the chairman of the committee Sourav Ganguly. After leaving his place, Ganguly first attended the funeral of Dr. Kalyan Mukherjee at Lee Road. After attending the funeral Sourav was coming to attend the meeting but his car broke down on the half way and he had to reach the meeting in an ordinary yellow taxi.

On being asked about the matter Ganguly said,” My car had broken down on the mid way so I had to catch a yellow taxi as the meeting is very important.”

Earlier in July, Sourav traveled in a train to inaugurate his own bronze statue at Balurghat.
