Debasis Sen, Cape Town: A lot of cricket pundits have already said that the current Indian bowling unit is the best of all that the nation ever have. India’s star pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is happy that they will get favorable conditions to bowl on but the side is also caustics ahead of the first Test in Cape Town as they don’t know what would be the actual nature of the wicket.

“Yes but we cant say what kind of wicket we are going to get in the match. We know the general conditions in South Africa so we are preparing according to that. We just want to prepare our best,” said Bhuvi while taking to the media after India’s practice session today.

The India skipper Virat Kohli had already said that he wants to test out different situations. According to Kumar, their success will be relying on how well they would use the Kookaburra ball during the matches as it is regraded as one of the toughest balls to bowl with.

“When it comes to batsmen there is bounce and those unplayable deliveries but when it comes to bowlers, the Kookaburra is one of the toughest balls to bowl with. It doesn’t do too much after 25-30 overs. These are the kind of situations we are tackling with,” added Kumar.

On being asked whether he had a chat regarding their plans as a pace unit with Ishant, Umesh, Shami or Bumrah during their practice session, Bhuvneshwar said,” We haven’t discussed so far because we are doing the basic things. Maybe couple of days before the Test match we will know how we go into it or what are the things we can regarding strategy or their batsmen.”

Kumar looked pretty confident about their maiden series win in South Africa but he also feels that they have to give their best in every department on all five days.

“We are confident but we have to give our best in every department on all five days. We are confident doing well in these conditions,” said Bhuvneshwar.

While taking about the Indian bowling combinations ahead of the first Test, Kumar said,” Wherever we play, whoever plays we do well. We are bowlers who have done well over the last two years and hopefully we will do well in these conditions as well.”

The current Proteas side has a lot of match winners in their side. Bhuvneshwar feels that the South African batting order will be a serious threat for the visitors during the series, but he also added that they are also eyeing to bowl well against them.

“Everyone, if you look at the batting lineup, is doing well. It’s about who is in good form and how as bowlers we will do against them,” concluded Kumar.
