XtraTime Web Desk: As Imran Khan is the Prime Minister of Pakistan, rumor is that Pakistan’s cricket body will be changed and former legend Wasim Akram will be made the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board( PCB).
As per a cricketing website, CricTracker Sultan of Swing will be appointed as the new PCB Chairman. The website claimed that a family source said, “ Yes, Wasim is a front-runner for becoming next PCB chairperson. He’s been associated with Imran Khan since both legends used to play cricket for Pakistan and now both ready to take the country on new heights.”
Imran Khan has never been on friendly terms with present PCB Chairman Najam Sethi as Khan believes that a former cricketer should lead a cricket board without any favoritism.
There has been no confirmation about this from Wasim Akram or his wife Shaniera Akram but we all know for sure that Akram voted for Imran Khan in the Elections 2018 and encouraged others to do the same.
Wasim Akram also congratulated Imran Khan on becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan and said, “Congratulating the new Prime Minister of our Country. It was all very formal but I still got to call him Skipper.”
Imran Khan and Wasim Akram are quite close and it will be a big step if Wasim Akram becomes PCB Chairman.
