UCL Draw: Guardiola to face Barca early; Bayern in Group of Death

Internet Desk: Pep Guardiola will return to Barcelona with Manchester City after his new club were paired with the Catalan giants in the Champions League.

City’s new manager, who twice won the competition during his illustrious spell in charge at Barcelona, guided City into the group stage with victory over Steaua Bucharest in the play-off round.

The two sides were drawn together in Group C alongside Borussia Monchengladbach and Scottish champions Celtic.

Surprise Premier League winners Leicester City will be happy with their group, having been placed alongside Porto, Club Brugge and Copenhagen.

Arsenal, playing in the Champions League for a 19th successive season, will face Paris Saint-Germain, Basel and Bulgarian side Ludogorets in Group A. Arsene Wenger has never come up against any of these teams in his time as a manager.

Tottenham avoided any of the major European heavyweights, and may even be confident of progressing from Group E, where they will play CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco.

Bundesliga champions German giants  Bayern Munich are placed in Group D  which is considered as the Group of death with Atletico Madrid and PSV and Russian top club Rostov.

Defending Champions Real Madrid who claimed La Undecima last season beating Atletico Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund of Germany again in a span of three years in Group F encounter and the other two teams in this group are Sporting Lisbon of Portugal and Legia of Poland.
