Xtra Time Web Desk : Premier League Champions Manchester City on Tuesday defeated the mighty Real Madrid 4-3, in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi final in what was an epic encounter between the two giants of European club football.

It was City, who took the lead against the 13 time champions at the second minute mark through a Kevin De Bruyne header, which was then doubled up within the first quarter of the hour by Gabriel Jesus, before Real Madrid’s star French striker Karim Benzema made the score line 2-1 for the Spanish champions before the halfway mark.

The second half too started in a see saw manner where the English side kept on taking the lead, while Ancelotti’s side constantly made their way back into the match, courtesy of brilliant team play and the fantabulous Benzema.

But the Spanish giants however couldn’t resist a City win as Bernardo Silva scored a brilliant goal to give his side a 4-3 win over their opponents in the high voltage match.

The two teams will again clash in a couple of weeks for the second leg, which will be played at the Santiago Bernabau, Madrid, which would be the decider.
