Kolkata: India’s pace spearhead Mohammed Shami is in more trouble as the Kolkata Police has started the investigation against him under several sections of the Indian Penal Code including 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his family. The other charges against Shami are under Section 307 – attempt to murder, Section 323 – punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 – rape, Section 506 – criminal intimidation, Section 328 and 34. Among these charges few are non bail-able also.
Not only that four other family members of the cricketer have also been named in the complaint by the police. Among them is Mohammed Shami’s elder brother against whom Hasin Jahan has filed a complaint of rape attempt on her. Beside that she also alleged that Shami’s family tried to murder her by giving sleeping pills. After listening all these allegations, Shami has told that her wife has lost her mental balance.
“She has lost her mental stability. She has to prove all the allegations made against me. If I have tortured her then she needs to prove it.” said Shami addressing a press conference.
Shami said that the horrific incident has mentally disturbed him and he is ready to take legal action against his wife.
“The entire episode is disturbing. I don’t know what she is up to. She needs to explain what has changed so much in these few days. She is suddenly leveling all these accusations on me. She is accusing of harassment. She is even accusing me of match-fixing. I think she has lost her mental balance or it might be her game plan to sabotage my career,” he said.
“I will also take legal action against her. Me and my family always wanted to stay with her. I have always loved her. You have seen that how happy we were in the interview. But I feel she is planning something evil.”
