Kolkata: A statue of Diego Maradona is to be established in the city of Joy. Just beside the Clock tower at Lake Town, the statue of the football great will be established and it would be inaugurated by none other than Maradona himself.
For the second time, The ‘Prince of Football’ will be arriving on the city on October 1 and the statue would be inaugurated the following day. He will also be playing the exhibition match which had been titled “Dada Vs Diego”and the legend would be in the field for 40minutes. Other eminent personalities who would be taking part in the game would be Sourav Ganguly, Jose Ramirez Barreto, Sony Norde, Odafa Okolie,Dev, Abir, Jishu Sengupta, Dhanraj Pillai and others.
Along with that it has been claimed that a sum of 10 Lakh would be donated to the relief fund of Chief Minister of the State Mamata Banerjee.
Maradona is also scheduled to inaugurate the puja pandals of 2 famous political leaders of the state.
Today the Official poster for the “Dada Vs Diego” match was unveiled, and for the inauguration of the poster Sujit Basu, Alvito D’Cunha, Shilton Pal, Mehtab Hussain and other famous personalities were present at the Dumdum Aditya Academy School.
