Debasis Sen, Dubai: Pitch curator of Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Mohan Singh on Sunday passed away ahead of the Afghanistan and New Zealand clash. It is not clear the exact reason for his death. The local police is going to investigate the death of Mohan Singh.
Mohan, who was previously associated with the Mohali Stadium in Chandigarh, died on Sunday (November 7) morning. There were rumours that he committed suicide after going through some depression.
The news has been confirmed by sources in UAE even as the match between Afghanistan and New Zealand was underway at the ground. The International Cricket Council (ICC) officials could not be immediately reached for a comment but it can be confirmed that the world body had used the services of Indian origin curator for the global event.
