Sunil Gavaskar’s grand re-union party: Find out the special guests and their activities

Kolkata: As commentary is his prime of the busy schedule, he has to be on abroad on most of the time. But on a particular day of the year, the ‘Little Master’ makes himself very available for his beloved and old friends. It was on Sunday night this time when Sunil Gavaskar celebrated the time with his friends.




This year’s party was a bit different from though from all these years. This time there were the two biggest superstars of the country – Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar. Besides, it also included the likes of Mohinder Amarnath, Sandip Patil, Sanjay Manjarekar, Harsha Bhogle, Deep Dasgupta, Murali Kartik and who not! The Bollywood celebs like Mahesh Manjarekar too were present.




The four hours long re-union party was held at the Indus Club of the Badra Kurla Complex. When www.xtratime.in contacted with Balwinder Singh Sandhu, one of the members of India’s World Cup winning squad of 1983, he said, “We all know how big a celebrity Sunil is. He travels all around the world for his passion for the game. But this day of the year he specially celebrates with his old friends. Last Sunday it was this time and it was a wonderful night.”







Among the galaxy of stars, there were three superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar. Between the two seniors, what was Sachin doing? Balwinder was saying, “Sachin is a legend. His gesture, culture of showing respect to the seniors is very much the same on today as well. I realized that once more by watching him on Sunday”.




Despite the age, Big B’s busy schedule has remained very much the same. But to keep the invitation of his favourite Sunny, Shahenshah too was present. And as expected, he blotted all the attention. But according to Balwinder, “He started talking to us like a common human being. Had a long chat with Sunny, Amarnath and Sachin on sports and movies. Overall, it was a lovely evening. It took me back to the down memory lanes”.
