XtraTime Web Desk – After missing out on Subhasish RoyChowdhury, SC East Bengal signed the veteran goalkeeper Subrata Paul on a loan deal.

It’s a homecoming for the Bengali lad. He’ll be joining the red and gold brigade after 13 years. On return, Sankar Roy will be joining Hyderabad FC. The 34 year old made 6 appearance for the nizams. He made 2 clean sheets in the process.

Later on, he got injured and Laxmikant Kattimani replaced him. The veteran goalkeeper made 28 clean sheets overall in ISL and his inclusion will definetly bring a lot of strength in their goalkeeping.

The question arises here. With Debjit Majumdar in super hot form, did they need a Subrata Paul in the second half of the season? Only SC East Bengal management can answer but no doubt this will help Debjit to gain more knowledge.
