Kolkata: United Sports Club coach Subrata Bhattacharya tenure may have come to an end after his team’s third successive defeat in the CFL and today they lost to Peerless SC 2-1.

The incident as it happened was such that as soon as USC conceded the second goal in the 86th minute, Subrata Bhattacharya left Barasat stadium citing poor health conditions. USC official Nabab Bhattacharya tried to contact the gaffer over phone but he did not pick up.

USC officials are in dilemma that whether Subrata Bhattacharya will continue as coach or resign in the middle of the tournament as they need to search for a new coach in the middle to continue proceedings.

Nabab Bhattacharya said, “Bablu da is not picking up our calls.  receivedI cannot understand whether he will continue or not as we have not received any official resignation.”

Earlier, United Sports Club had appointed former Mohun Bagan and East Bengal gaffer Subrata Bhattacharya as the new head coach of the team for the ensuing Calcutta Football League (CFL). The former defender has agreed to work without any remuneration for the team that has been fighting against financial constraints for almost three years now.
