Sir Clive Lloyd to attend Satgachia High School Platinum Jubilee

Xtra Time Web Desk: Legendary West Indian cricketer Sir Clive Lloyd arrived in Kolkata on Wednesday to attend Satgachia High School Platinum Jubilee Trophy final. Sir Clive will be present at the Platinum Jubilee Trophy final of Satgachia High School in East Burdhaman on Swami Vivekananda’s birthday on January 12.

The last time he came to Kolkata was during the T20 World Cup in 2016. Lloyd arrived at Dumdum airport around 7:30 am from Guyana via Dubai. Lloyd, who led the West Indies cricket team to two world cup titles back in 1975 & 1979 did not show any signs of stress from the long flight.

The stylish left-hand batter scored 19 Test centuries in his illustrious career. He played the fourth best innings in terms of maximum runs in Tests during the India-West Indies Test at the Eden Gardens in December 1983.

Surajit Bakshi, a former student of Satgachiya High School was the man behind bringing Lloyd to Calcutta. Bakshi’s son Sammanlan welcomed Lloyd at the airport. According to him, nothing can be more glorious than the fact that Lloyd is appearing in the 75th year of the village school. January 12 is also going to be memorable for the participants in the school cricket tournament organized in collaboration with Purva Satgachia Samhatari.
