Serie A: Ronaldo scores in Juventus 4-0 rout over Lecce to consolidate lead on top

XtraTime Web Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal and involved in two assists to help Juventus thrash a 10 man Lecce at the Allianz stadium on Friday night. The lead consolidated Juventus’s lead on top of Serie A. Paolo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and Matthijis de Ligt were also on the score sheet for Juve. The win took the club from Turin to 69 points from 28 games, seven points clear of second placed Lazio who is on 62 points having played a game less.
Juventus took the lead through Paulo Dybala in the 53rd minute of the match after his curling effort from the edge of the box found the top corner. Juve was awarded a penalty after Luca Rossettini committed a foul of Ronaldo inside the box. The Portugese International made no mistake from converting from the spot kick to give his side a 2-0 lead in the 62nd minute. Argentine Gonzalo Higuain extended the lead for the Turin side in the 83rd minute after receiving a perfect back heel from Ronaldo. Two minutes later, Matthijis de Ligt headed in to further extend Juventus dominance.

Lecce was reduced to 10 men following a marching order to Fabio Lucioni in the 31st minute of the match.

Lazio will have an opportunity to reduce the gap on top when they meet Fiorentina in a Serie A clash on Saturday night.
