Internet Desk: Bengal defeated Punjab 1-0 in a Group B match here at Nagpur on Thursday. Narahari Shrestha scored the solitary goal for Bengal.
Bengal could win the match by a bigger margin. Narahari could himself score a hattrick. Mumtaz Akhtar was brilliant in the midfield for Bengal. Priyant Singh made some excellent saves to restrict Punjab from scoring. He was later adjudged the man of the match.
Bengal coach Alok Mukherjee sounds unhappy. “We could have won the match by a bigger margin. I am not at all happy with my team’s performance. According to me Mumtaz was the man of the match”. Said the Bengal coach.
Bengal’s next match is on 7th March against Tamil Nadu.
