Internet Desk:Sports enthusiastic and renowned industrialist Sanjiv Goenka wants to continue his tryst with sports as he is planning to buy a foreign football club after owning teams in the ISL and IPL.
Sanjiv Goenka,chairman of the RP Sanjiv Goenka group recently acquired the Pune franchise of IPL for 16 crore. The team has been named Rising Pune SuperGiants and will be captained by Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is also the co-owner of Atletico De Kolkata in the Indian Super League which emerged champions in the inaugural season of ISL. In the second season ATK failed to qualify to the final as they were defeated 3-2 by Chennaiyin FC.
According to sources, approximately one and a half month ago a second division club of a top European country has approached Mr. Goenka. Apart from this Sanjiv Goenka is also looking to open a football academy in Kolkata to develop grasroot level football. It seems that Sanjiv Goenka is likely to bring a vast change in the Indian sports circuit with his investments.
