Sachin Tendulkar donates rupees 1cr towards ‘Mission Oxygen India’ project

Due to the increase in corona cases and detoriating situation in India the country is seeing an excess need for medical oxygen as this variant of the COVID-19 virus is leaving patients with loss of breath. This has led to the government asking chemical plants and industries to produce more medical oxygen. Even plants that were stopped due to many legal issues, like the Sterlite Copper Plant in Tamil Nadu have been restarted so that it can produce medical oxygen which in due course can be used to save lives of many Individuals.

Keeping in mind the situation in hand Now, Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar has also joined the initiative of ‘Mission Oxygen India’. He has donated Rs 1 crore to the “Mission Oxygen India”. This incidentally is a group of 250 plus volunteers and entrepreneurs who are raising funds for importing oxygen supplies like concentrators and donating them to hospitals to combat the situation.

Incidentally ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar had previously donated Rs 25 lakhs each to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. It was in the year 2020 when whole of India like the other parts of the world was fighting the first wave of the Coronavirus.
