Xtra Time Web Desk : Team India’s white ball captain Rohit Sharma on Wednesday passed the much-anticipated fitness test that was carried out in the National Cricket Academy and is all set for the limited over home series against West Indies.

The fitness test was a mandatory on for the 34 year old, since he was already rehabilitating at NCA after a left hamstring injury that he suffered during a training session ahaed of the South Africa tour due to which he missed the tour that consisted of 3 Tests and 3 ODIs.

It has been more than seven and half weeks of rehabilitation and recuperation for the Mumbai Indian’s skipper, who was dearly missed during the Proteas tour by both the team and the fans. However, with Rohit is now fit and is available for the series against the West Indies, the Men in Blue would surely be a much rejuvenated side.

Apart from Rohit Sharma’s return, there are question marks lurking over Ravichandran Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s place in limited overs side. Thus it will be intriguing to see what decisions the selectors make in regard to these two veterans, later this week when they announce the team.

Team India under the leadership of Rohit will start the home series against West Indies on February 6 in Ahmedabad.
