Rift with Sachin? Sourav Ganguly breaks his silence

XtraTime Web Desk: Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly on Sunday took a dig a part of media personals as he thinks that some of them are trying to put his statement against Sachin regarding the forthcoming World Cup.

“A lot of people in the media is trying to put my statement against sachin s when I said “I want the World Cup”My response has got nothing to do with his statement, nor is my statement against his .. he is, has been and will be one of my best friends for last 25 years @sachin_rt,” Sourav posted on his twitter handle.

There are speculations that India may not play the World Cup match against arch-rivals Pakistan in the forthcoming World Cup after Pulwama terrorist attack where 44 CRPF jawans were killed.

But in a statement legendary Indian batsman Tendulkar said he would rather India had the opportunity to stretch their unbeaten World Cup record against Pakistan when the teams meet at Old Trafford on June 16.

“India has always come up trumps against Pakistan in the World Cup,” said Tendulkar. “Time to beat them once again.

“I would personally hate to give them two points and help them in the tournament.

“Having said that, for me India always comes first, so whatever my country decides, I will back that decision with all my heart,” he added.

Ganguly on Saturday, however, took a step ahead when asked to react to Tendulkar’s remark. “He (Sachin) wants two points against Pakistan, I want the World Cup,”.

After his comment many news channel started showing that Sourav has given a different opinion from Sachin. Today the CAB President cleared all the doubts from the mind of everyone and lashed out to some media persons for yellow journalism.
