Ravindra Jadeja likely to return in playing XI for second test against South Africa | Report

Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as good news for the Indian cricket team, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is likely to be available for the second test match against Proteas which starts at the Newlands stadium in Cape Town from January 3, 2024. According to news agency PTI, Jadeja was seen training with the team ahead of the third day’s play in the first test match at Centurion. The all-rounder did not look in any sort of discomfort as he ran multiple 30 to 40-metre short strides during the morning session.

The report emphasizes the reassuring aspect of Jadeja’s bowling during the lunch break on the third day, where he, alongside reserve pacer Mukesh Kumar, dedicated close to 20 minutes to a practice session on a specially prepared track. Jadeja’s training session was keenly observed by the team’s strength and conditioning coach, Rajnikant, adds to the optimism surrounding Jadeja’s potential return.

Jadeja, who is the number one ranked all-rounder, was sorely missed during the Boxing Day test match at Super Sport Park in Centurion. The visitors ended up losing the test by an innings and 32 runs.
