Xtra Time Web Desk: Rahul Tewatia brought back memories on Friday in a IPL match against Punjab Kings. This was not the first time Tewatia had hurt Punjab Kings. The former Rajasthan Royals star player hit West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell for 5 sixes in an over as RR had chased down 224 against Punjab, and equalled the record of Chris Gayle. He scored 53 runs in 31 balls, helping his team to chase the target, which became the highest runs ever chased in the Indian Premier League history.

Gujarat Titans all rounder Rahul Tewatia pulled off a stunning win over Punjab Kings in style, at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and complete a hat-trick of victories in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Gujarat Titans needed 12 runs in the last 2 balls in 190 run chase, Rahul Tewatia hit two mid-wicket stands, putting a smile on captain Hardik Pandya’s face after the star all-rounder was gutted over his run-out in the final over of the tense chase.

Tewatia on Friday, hit 13 off 3 balls, where he smashed 2 six-es in the last two deliveries of the match.

In February 2021, he got his maiden call from the BCCI in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against England.

With sheer determination and historic effort in the final over, Tewatia joined MS Dhoni in an elite list of batters, to hit 2 sixes when 12 runs were needed off the last 2 balls to win an IPL match.
