Pro Kabaddi League: Nitin Tomar emerges costliest-ever buy

Internet Desk: The fifth season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is all set to start from July 2017 and the auctions for the league are underway from Monday. The grand auction is held in New Delhi on Monday and Tuesday. Over 400 players including 60+ international players from 16 nations will be sold to the respective teams.

A lot of Indian players were sold on high price today in the auction and the rest will go under hammer in tomorrow’s auction. This year there will be a total number of 12 franchises among them four will be new in the tournament. Each team can spend 4 crore rupees to build their side. The base price will be Rs 5 lakh to 35 lakh according to the player’s quality. A franchise can buy 18 to 25 players to form their team and maximum of 4 overseas players can be bought by a side.

Nitin Tomar has outclassed Manjeet Chillar to become the most valuable player in the history of the tournament. The 22-year-old was sold to the new side, Team UP for Rs 93 lakhs.

Earlier in the auction veteran Manjit Chhillar was sold to Jaipur Pink Panthers for a whooping amount of RS 75.50 lakh. Jaipur Pink Panthers have bagged Selvamani K for Rs 73 lakh. On the other hand Rohit Kumar went to Bengaluru Bulls for Rs 81 Lakhs.
