Our Champions League victory was written in fate: Pep Guardiola
Xtra Time Web Desk: On Saturday, Manchester City lost 1-0 to Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul. Despite the defeat, City clinched their first-ever European treble by winning the Premier League and the FA Cup this season.
Even with this victory, City coach Pep Guardiola humbly credited their success. After the match, facing journalists, Pep said, "Being alongside Sir Alex Ferguson is a great achievement for me. I have received many messages since morning that have touched me. It feels very good. I am tired, calm, and relaxed. The win was very difficult."
However, Pep acknowledged that the victory was not easy against Inter. The Spanish coach said, "Inter played very well. I told my players at halftime to stay calm. They had to be lucky to win. This tournament is like a coin toss. But the victory was written in fate. We deserve it."
Lastly, Pep playfully challenged Real Madrid, saying, "We are now ahead of Real Madrid in terms of Champions League titles, with only 13 titles behind them."
