Yadumani Singh Outclasses Pakistani Boxer, Dedicates Commonwealth Games Win to Kargil Heroes

XtraTime Newsdesk: Indian boxer Yadumani Singh delivered a commanding performance at the Commonwealth Games, defeating Pakistan's Sumama Rahman by a unanimous 5-0 decision to book his place in the semifinals. Following the emphatic victory, the Indian Army boxer dedicated his win to the heroes of the Kargil War.

Amid chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "India, India", Yadumani entered the ring full of confidence and lived up to the expectations with a technically flawless display. His superior movement, sharp combinations, and tactical awareness gave Rahman little opportunity to settle into the contest.

The opening round saw Yadumani adopt a cautious approach as he studied his opponent's rhythm. After a brief assessment, he began landing crisp hooks and powerful punches that immediately put the Pakistani boxer under pressure.

In the second round, Yadumani raised the intensity. His speed, footwork, and ring movement consistently troubled Rahman, who struggled to find any meaningful openings.

The final round followed a similar pattern. Yadumani initially allowed Rahman to come forward before unleashing a series of devastating counterattacks that completely dismantled the Pakistani challenge. The judges unanimously awarded the bout to the Indian boxer with a 5-0 verdict.

The victory carried extra emotional significance as it came on Kargil Vijay Diwas. Speaking after the bout, Yadumani said, "I want to dedicate this victory to the heroes of Kargil. My goal is to defeat everyone in my path and win the gold medal for India."

Yadumani is now just one victory away from securing a medal at the Commonwealth Games and remains firmly on course in his quest for gold.

Meanwhile, Asian Games bronze medallist Preeti Pawar also progressed to the quarterfinals, keeping India's boxing campaign on a strong footing.
