India's Rishikanta Singh won the silver medal in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games after setting a new record in the men's 60 kg category. The 28-year-old weightlifter from Manipur finished in second place, earning India's second medal of the Games and its first silver.
Rishikanta created a new record by lifting 121 kg in his third and final attempt in the snatch event.
In the clean and jerk, he successfully lifted 143 kg. He then attempted 151 kg in a bid to win the gold medal but was unsuccessful. However, with a combined total of 264 kg, he secured the silver medal.
Malaysia's Anik Kasdan claimed the gold medal, while Mboya of Kenya won the bronze.
Earlier, India had won a bronze medal, and Rishikanta's performance brought the country's second medal of the Games. So far, India's campaign at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games has produced mixed results.
