India's Gyaneshwari Yadav narrowly missed out on a gold medal but delivered an outstanding performance to claim the silver medal in the women's 53kg weightlifting event.

The Indian lifter equalled her personal best with a total lift of 199kg, finishing second on the podium. She successfully lifted 89kg in the snatch and 110kg in the clean and jerk, showcasing remarkable consistency and strength throughout the competition.

India also enjoyed a productive day across multiple disciplines.

In athletics, Murali Sreeshankar and Lokesh Sathyanathan qualified for the men's long jump final, keeping India's medal hopes alive.

In swimming, Sajan Prakash advanced to the final of the men's 200m butterfly, while Sattvik Patil booked his place in the 100m Breaststroke SB9 final.

Meanwhile, Tejas Sirse secured qualification for the women's hurdles final, continuing India's impressive run in track events.
