Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s new sensation Washington Sundar has named his pet after “Gabba”. One must be wondering why did the cricketer from Chennai name his pet after an Australian ground when there is Chepauk in his own hometown. Well Gabba happens to be the ground where Washington made his test debut for India. He was quite impressive on his debut, taking three wickets in the Australian first innings including the key one of Steve Smith. He left a lasting impression with the bat after India were struggling at one point with 186/6. He went on to score a brilliant half century on his debut and shared a 123-run stand with Shardul Thakur to help India score 336.

In order to make his test debut memorable, Washington decided to name his pet dog ‘Gabba’. The Royal Challengers Bangalore cricketer posted a picture of himself standing with his mother, sister and the new pet dog.

In his caption, Sundar did not reveal the name of the pet but made it very clear by writing: “Lovely few days with the fam! Guess who’s the new member of the house? Hint: My Test debut!”

India went on to win the fourth test and series at Gabba, creating history. Washington has so far played four test matches, scoring three half centuries that include two scores of 90+ runs.
