MS Dhoni retained by Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals do not release Rishabh Pant ahead of IPL 2024

Xtra Time Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have announced their list of retained players for the upcoming IPL 2024 auctions, and their iconic captain, MS Dhoni, is set to lead the team once again. The team has made strategic releases, including notable names like Ben Stokes and Ambati Rayudu, freeing up resources for the mini-auctions with a substantial purse of Rs 32.2 crore.

Having been an integral part of CSK since its inception, Dhoni continues to command a significant price tag, earning a staggering Rs 12 crore from the franchise until 2023. Despite facing challenges such as a knee injury, the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman is determined to take the field for the Yellow Army once more, emphatically dispelling any speculations regarding his retirement from the premier T20 league.

As a seasoned campaigner and one of the most successful captains in IPL history, Dhoni’s leadership and on-field prowess remain crucial for CSK as they gear up for the IPL 2024 season. Fans can anticipate more Dhoni magic as he continues to guide the team in their quest for further glory in the highly anticipated tournament.

Meanwhile Delhi Capitals have decided to release as many as 11 players ahead of IPL 2024 auction, schedule to take place in UAE on December 19. The franchise has parted ways with Rilee Rossouw, Chetan Sakariya, Rovman Powell, Manish Pandey, Phil Salt, Mustafizur Rahman, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ripal Patel, Sarfaraz Khan, Aman Khan and Priyam Garg.

But the big news is Rishabh Pant is among the retained players. Pant who missed last IPL season due to a horrific road accident is being tipped to recover fully before the start of the next IPL season. He recently visited Kolkata to attend a DC camp.
