“Move in silence …. “: Axar Patel shares cryptic post on social media

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India left-arm spinner Axar Patel, who spun a web against the visiting Australian team, picking three wickets for 16 runs to pave the way for 44 runs win for India in the fourth T20I at Raipur, posted a cryptic message on Twitter: The win also sealed the T20I series win for Suryakumar Yadav’s side 3-1 with one match left.

Axar’s post read, “Move in silence. Only speak when it’s time to say checkmate.” Despite his notable performance in the ongoing T20I series against the Aussies, Axar has been excluded from the Indian T20I squad for the South Africa tour, possibly prompting the enigmatic post aimed at the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar.

Here is Akshar Patel’s cryptic post:

Despite his absence, players like Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, and Washington Sundar secured spots in the T20I squad. Axar expressed disappointment after a left quadriceps strain ruled him out of the Cricket World Cup, eventually leading to R Ashwin’s inclusion. Acknowledging the setback, Axar returned to training and rehab after about a week and accepted the unpredictable nature of injuries in cricket.

In the ongoing T20I series against Australia, Axar made a noteworthy comeback, taking five wickets in four games so far. Although left out of the South Africa tour, he aims to participate in the T20 World Cup 2024. Axar, seemingly unfazed by the snub, emphasized focusing on one match at a time and maintaining a normal mindset.
