Mashrafe Mortaza tests positive for COVID-19

XtraTime Web Desk: Former Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza has been tested positive for COVID -19. The fast bowler from Narail complained about temperatures on Thursday night. It was later confirmed that the former captain of Bangladesh has tested positive for COVID-19.


Moshraffe is not the only international cricketer to have been inflicted by the dreaded virus. Earlier former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi too was diagnosed with coronavirus.


According to reliable sources, “Mashrafe complained of fever on Thursday night. On Friday his sample for Covid19 test was collected and the result showed positive [today]. He is doing well at the moment and his family is also fine.”

Reports have also suggested his mother-in-law had contracted with coronavirus last week. Mortaza has played 78 wickets in Tests, 270 ODI wickets and 42 scalps in the shortest format of the game.
