Xtra Time Web Desk: India captain Rohit Sharma has put to rest any speculation about his retirement during an event in Dallas on Sunday. Addressing a large crowd, Sharma affirmed that he has no immediate plans to retire and fans can expect to see him on the field for a while longer.

Sharma, who recently led India to a triumphant victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 held in the West Indies and the USA, was the second highest run-getter in the tournament. Following this win, he had announced his retirement from the T20I format, stating it was the right moment to conclude his T20I career on a high note.

"I haven't really thought about retirement. But I don't know where life takes you. I am still playing well at this point in time, so I am thinking I am going to continue for a few more years.
