Xtra Time Web Desk: FC Goa secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over East Bengal in an exhilarating match, highlighted by Borja Herrera's sensational hat-trick—marking Goa's first win of the ISL 2024-25 season.

The contest kicked off with FC Goa taking charge early on. In the 13th minute, a defensive error by East Bengal’s goalkeeper Debjit allowed Borja to score from a loose ball, giving Goa a 1-0 lead. Just seven minutes later, he doubled his tally by converting a pass from Boris, extending the lead to 2-0.

East Bengal fought back and earned a penalty in the 28th minute. Madih Talal converted it to goal and brought the score to 2-1 before halftime.

In the second half, Borja struck again in the 71st minute with a powerful shot, completing his hat-trick and making it 3-1. Despite being down, East Bengal responded with a goal from David Lalhlansanga in the 85th minute, narrowing the gap to 3-2.

With FC Goa reduced to ten men after Carl McHugh’s red card in the 81st minute, East Bengal pressed for an equalizer during stoppage time but couldn’t find it. The match ended with Goa clinching the victory, leaving East Bengal still searching for their first points of the season.
