Xtra Time Web Desk: Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has etched his name in cricket history by breaking a long-standing record held by the legendary Sunil Gavaskar during the ongoing Chennai Test against Bangladesh. In his 10th Test match, Jaiswal surpassed Gavaskar's 51-year-old record of 978 runs to become the Indian batter with the most runs in their first 10 Test matches. Jaiswal now boasts an impressive 1,094 runs, solidifying his place among India's brightest talents.

In the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Jaiswal scored 56 in the first innings before adding 10 in the second. His overall tally places him fourth on the all-time list for most runs after 10 Tests, with only cricketing legends Don Bradman (Australia), Everton Weekes, and George Headley (both West Indies) ahead of him.
