Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India's openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal set a new Test cricket world record with a blistering start against Bangladesh on Day 4 of the second Test in Kanpur. After dismissing Bangladesh for 233 runs in their first innings, Rohit and Jaiswal displayed aggressive intent from the very first ball, sending the opposition bowlers to all parts of the ground. The duo raced to 50 runs in just three overs, marking the fastest team fifty in Test cricket history.

India surpassed England's previous record of a 26-ball fifty, which was achieved against the West Indies earlier this year at Trent Bridge, by reaching the milestone in just 18 balls. This remarkable feat highlights India's adaptability in Test cricket, demonstrating that they can shift gears when required, much like England’s "Bazball" approach.

India's bowling unit was led by Jasprit Bumrah (3/50), with Akash Deep (2/43), Ravichandran Ashwin (2/45), and Mohammed Siraj (2/57) contributing key breakthroughs. Ravindra Jadeja also reached a personal milestone, completing 300 Test wickets.
