Xtra Time Web Desk: India batter Shreyas Iyer has assured that there are no injury concerns for skipper Rohit Sharma and pacer Mohammed Shami following India's victory over Pakistan in the Champions Trophy.

During the high-voltage encounter, Shami walked off the field within the first 10 overs for treatment on his shin, while Rohit spent an extended period off the field, reportedly due to a hamstring issue. Former pacer Dale Steyn, who was on commentary, pointed out that Rohit appeared to be struggling with his left hamstring while chasing the ball towards the end of India's bowling innings.

Shami, however, returned to bowl a second spell and looked much more comfortable, though he did not complete his full quota of 10 overs. The injury concerns for both players come at a crucial juncture, with India having just one group-stage match left before the semi-finals on March 4 at the Dubai International Stadium.

Addressing the media after the match, Iyer downplayed any concerns. “Not really. I had a brief chat with both of them, and they were quite comfortable with how things progressed. From my knowledge, there’s no issue,” he stated.

Rohit has not faced major fitness concerns recently but had worked on his conditioning following criticism during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25. Meanwhile, Shami recently made his comeback after a 14-month injury layoff. The pacer, who underwent ankle surgery post the 2023 ODI World Cup, had previously revealed that he trained at the National Cricket Academy for eight hours daily to shed nine kilograms and regain full fitness.
