Xtra Time Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce India's squad for the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 on January 18, with a press conference led by chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar. The squad for the three-match T20I series against England is also expected to be revealed at the same time.
The Champions Trophy 2025, starting on February 19, will feature eight teams in two groups of four. India and Pakistan are the only teams yet to announce their squads for the tournament. The delay from the BCCI is due to concerns over the fitness of key players Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav. Bumrah, recovering from a back injury sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and Yadav, who missed the Australia tour due to a knee injury, are both expected to be closely monitored before selection. Yadav, however, has shown signs of recovery, sharing training videos ahead of the ODI series.

Another point of intrigue is whether Karun Nair, in sensational form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, will make the squad. Nair has scored 752 runs in seven innings, including five centuries. His team, Vidarbha, will play Karnataka in the final on January 20, which coincides with the squad announcement.
The BCCI will also unveil a 15-member T20I squad for the upcoming series against England, which starts on January 22.
