Xtra Time Web Desk:  Arshdeep Singh has grabbed the lens ahead of the Champions Trophy with a terrific spell in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Arshdeep ran riot against Maharashtra in quater finals of the tournament.

The fast bowler registered the figures of 5-1-21-2 early in the match troubling Maharashtra's top-order batters - especially Ruturaj Gaikwad and Siddesh Veer with swing and seam.

He also surpassed Varun Chakravarthy's tally of wickets in Vijay Hazare this season having 19 wickets already in 7 matches in bag and is yet to bowl his full quota of overs in this game. He has picked 4 wickets each in his last two games in the tournament against Hyderabad and Puducherry. 

Will Arshdeep get a go for Champions Trophy? Why not! Fans have been demanding for Arshdeep's inclusion in all formats of the game for a while now. The pacer has settled his place in the T20I side, but is yet to achieve a regular place in the ODI and Test team. In fact, Arshdeep has not played the red-ball format for India yet but has taken steady strides in the domestic arena and in County Cricket as well.

Keeping all the possibilities in mind, it will be interesting to see whether Arshdeep gets a go for Champions Trophy or Indian selectors choose something else!
