Yuvraj has been in talks with Delhi Capitals for the past few months. The former India allrounder has no prior coaching experience and it will be a big test of his coaching skills.

However, he has previously mentored youngsters like Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. Both Gill and Abhishek are currently Indian internationals and the ones to look out for in the future.

Gill has even gone a step ahead and is already in India's leadership group. He is seen by many as the future captain of India and the next superstar batter from Indian cricket.

Yuvraj will replace Ricky Ponting in the Delhi Capitals. Ponting was sacked from the role of head coach a few months ago as the team management failed to get the desired results under him.

Ricky Ponting was the Capitals' head coach in seven IPL seasons in which the team reached the playoffs three times, in 2019, 2020, and 2021. In 2020, Delhi reached the final for the first time but lost to Mumbai Indians in the summit clash.
