IPL 2022 : Tata Group all set to replace Vivo as the title sponsors for IPL : Report
Xtra Time Web Desk : The Indian Premier League is all set for a huge change as the Tata Group is most likely to take over as the title sponsors for IPL from Chinese mobile manufacturer Vivo.
According to PTI reports, the decision was taken in Indian Premier League Governing Council's meeting which was held on Tuesday. The report also stated that current IPL chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed the change oh sponsorship to the agency in a statement.
“Yes, Tata group is coming in as IPL title sponsor," said Brijesh Patel to PTI over the latest development.
The IGC reportedly has agreed on transferring the title rights from Vivo to Tata Group, which is indeed a giant in the corporate sector. Vivo although had a couple of years left in it's contract after the Chinese house roped in the deal as the title sponsors of the league back in 2018 for a humongous amount of 440 Crore per year. But the latest development states that Tata will take over as the main sponsors with immediate effect.
Also, the league is most likely to be called as ‘Tata Indian Premier League’.
