Shami, sidelined since sustaining an injury during the 2023 World Cup, recently marked his comeback in the Ranji Trophy, claiming four wickets in Bengal's first innings to underline his readiness for competitive cricket.
Speaking ahead of the 1st Test in Perth, Bumrah highlighted the management’s close monitoring of Shami’s progress. “Shami bhai has started to play cricket, and obviously, he is an integral part of this team. The management is keeping a keen eye on him. Hopefully, things fall in place, and you might see him here as well,” he said.
